Greetings!

I am Renita Gray, your child's new 6th grade science teacher here at Bellevue Middle College Preparatory School. I have been given the opportunity to facilitate what your child learns in the areas of General Science and Facing History and Ourselves this year. In my classroom, students will investigate and develop skills that will enhance his/her scholastic endeavors throughout his/her educational career. I really enjoy teaching these subjects. And, it is my hope that your child will grow to enjoy science and Facing History as much as I do.

For some of you, this will be your first year with us. For others, you are already accustomed to the climate here at Bellevue. But for each of you, this year will be new and exciting simply because your child will embark on a different level of his/her school career. He or she has advanced to Middle School. There will be more challenging tasks and a higher level of expectation than was required during their Elementary School years. I look forward to working with your child this year as he or she transitions to Middle School.

Classroom culture, in this class, is one based on mutual respect: respect for the classroom setting, respect for instruction being given, and, most of all, respect for each and every individual in the classroom. With that said, I have three basic expectations that support instruction:

Again, I would like to welcome you to a new school year at Bellevue. I look forward to meeting you soon.

Cordially,

Renita A. Gray
